  34. HISTORY: Since 1982 the Public Domain and Shareware Library (PDSL)
  35. has specialised in supplying the best in PD and shareware to
  36. thousands of customers world-wide. In 1992, for the first time we
  37. offered a major part of our library on the LIBRIS BRITANNIA CDROM.
  38. Although we cover all areas of interest with our program selection
  39. our specialist area has always been technical and scientific
  40. programs. Although there is a lot of space on a CDROM we still had to
  41. leave a lot off the LIBRIS BRITANNIA disk. For this reason we have
  42. split our library into two parts: Part 1: The Technical Volume (this
  43. disk) covering technical and scientific programming and part 2: Best
  44. Applications, covering other more general interest areas. These two
  45. parts together replace to original 1 disk version.

  47. CONTENT: This disk brings you the largest collection of scientific
  48. and technical public domain and shareware programs available for the
  49. PC anywhere.

  51. PROGRAM AGE: Although it is our general policy to bring you the
  52. latest possible versions of programs and just omit early programs,
  53. scientific and specialist applications tend not to go out of date as
  54. quickly or updated so often as more general applications. We
  55. have included on this disk a number of files which by our normal "age"
  56. criteria would normally have been omitted. However, these files
  57. either include source code which is still perfectly usable or
  58. adaptable for your own applications or programs which
  59. are unique in some way and which have never been updated by their
  60. authors.  With this later class of programs you may occasionally have
  61. problems with later versions of DOS and may have to use the DOS
  62. LOADFIX and SET VER options.  See your DOS manual for details on use
  63. of these.

  67. This package includes a book and this disk.  The book gives
  68. descriptions and list of the disc contents and will help you find the
  69. items you are looking for. If you did not receive both items contact
  70. your dealer, PDSL, or Walnut Creek CDROM.

  73. considered to be a sort of try before you buy system where you are
  74. expected to pay the program author a registration fee if you find the
  75. program useful.  You will find detail of registration included in the
  76. document/text files provided with each program.
